The tension comes from the switch: a faceless assassin who chooses dominance and seduction over the blade, a curvy civilian who discovers she's more into being pinned against warm sandstone than she expected. It's a straightforward predator/prey setup with a lot of size difference, rough handling, and reluctant-then-enthusiastic surrender, and it has clearly struck a nerve with readers because variations of it keep appearing near the top of the list.
