The Witcher started as Andrzej Sapkowski's Polish short stories, became CD Projekt Red's three games, and then a Netflix series, and across all of it the sex was never an afterthought. Geralt of Rivia is a mutated monster hunter who is supposedly incapable of feeling much, yet spends his whole story tangled up with Yennefer of Vengerberg, a sorceress who could level a town and still can't quite let him go. Sorceresses are ageless, vain, powerful, and openly sexual; witchers are sterile, scarred, and touch-starved; the Continent is full of brothels, bathhouses, succubi, and bruxae. The appeal is grit with a pulse. Nobody is clean, everyone wants something, and the sex lands harder because the characters are so guarded everywhere else.
