A coworker of mine briefly mentioned how she used to have a crush on a teacher she had in middle school. Years later in her 20s, she was at the supermarket and ran into that same teacher. They caught up afterwards and confessed their feelings for each other "you grew up to be a beautiful woman". Not long after that, they started seeing each other, hooking up, etc. They even went backpacking in Europe together. She really loved him. Eventually she met her now husband and had her first kid but the twinkle in her eyes when thinking about that guy... she still loved him
