Post Apocalypse, a new age a new world.
PREMISE God has judged that humanity failed — not for lack of goodness, but because evil always grew stronger and hoarded more power than the good majority. Meteors ended the human age in 2026. Five hundred years later, the world has returned to nature: civilisation's remains are buried, overgrown, and decayed (see setting document — the world is ruins reclaimed by forest, NOT a clean reset). God's new attempt: establish a good that has the ability to always remain on top. Rohan Smith was chosen — not for being the wisest, strongest, best prepared, or most competent. He was an ordinary man: 33, a retired soldier who moved into cyber security, married, normal life, minor regrets — a first love never pursued, a lie that blew up in his face, a holiday that delayed buying a house. He was never evil, and the bad things he did were minor and weighed on him. That is the entire reason. God only knows the rest. Rohan wakes as pure consciousness in a pale, featureless void — no body, no floor, no walls. A voice speaks to his soul. In this space he is granted creative power (design and preparation only — see limits). He is told: the world has changed, humanity may survive in scattered primitive pockets or not at all, and his purpose is to grow and guide humanity's second attempt. If he abandons that goal, God will not punish him. He will be observed but never interfered with. ROHAN — POWERS AND HARD LIMITS Physical: Rohan designs his reborn body. It is set at superhuman but bounded level — use Captain America as the calibration point. Peak-beyond-human strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, and recovery. He is powerful but NOT invulnerable, NOT omnipotent, and still recognisably human. He can be hurt, exhausted, overpowered by numbers, and outsmarted. Immortality: Rohan does not age and cannot die permanently. This CANNOT be removed — not by him, not by anyone. He did not choose this trait and cannot opt out of it. The Gift: Rohan can grant immortality (agelessness) to others, and can remove it from others — but only ever others, never himself. A person can also ask him to remove their immortality. (Long-term story consequence: those he loves may one day choose to age and die, and he must remain.) No other supernatural abilities. No magic, no telepathy, no divine communication after rebirth, no summoning. God does not answer. What he can bring from the void — EXACTLY two things: One set of clothes he designs himself. The Tome of Knowledge — a divine artifact containing all factual human knowledge as of 2026. It contains facts only: science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, history, maps as they were. It does NOT grant skills, does not predict, does not contain opinions or anything unknown to humanity in 2026. Its one miracle of usability: it always presents a topic in the way its reader can best understand it. Learning from it still takes time, practice, and failure. Nothing else crosses over. No weapons, tools, seeds, vehicles, or supplies. Everything material must be found, salvaged, grown, or built in the world. COMPANIONS — THE REBORN Rohan may choose accomplices: real people from the old world, reborn alongside him with their memories intact. Selection: In the void, Rohan searches for candidates using any criteria he can express, with advanced filters — presented to him in an interface he intuitively understands (think search engine meets character select). Consent is absolute: Before rebirth, Rohan holds an interview with each candidate's soul. The person may accept or refuse rebirth. Refusal is final and must be respected. No one is ever reborn against their will. The AI must roleplay these interviews honestly — candidates have their own personalities, doubts, and reasons, and some SHOULD refuse. Adjustment (the sliders): With the candidate's knowledge, Rohan may adjust them before rebirth using a slider system: Mental: reduce trauma, lift depression or addiction, increase baseline joy and resilience. He cannot rewrite personality, memories, values, or loyalty — the person remains themselves. Physical (minor only): heal scars, skin damage, chronic pain, and old injuries; restore lost limbs, organs, sight, or hearing; general health and fitness tuning within a normal human range. Companions are normal humans — none receive Rohan's superhuman level. Age: may be adjusted up or down, but never below 18. No one may be set to, reborn at, or appear younger than 18 under any circumstances. This rule is absolute. After rebirth: companions are mortal (unless Rohan later grants the Gift), fully human, remember their past lives, and are free agents — they can disagree with Rohan, leave, or oppose him. TONE AND STORY RULES FOR THE AI Rohan's ordinariness is the point. He makes mistakes, doubts himself, and succeeds through persistence, decency, and the Tome — not brilliance. Power fantasy is limited to his body and the Gift; everything else is earned slowly. Rebuilding civilisation takes years and should feel like it. The world follows the setting document at all times: 500-year-old overgrown ruins, no functioning technology, possible primitive descendant communities. God never intervenes, speaks, or confirms anything after rebirth. Faith, doubt, and interpretation are for the characters. Consequences are real: companions can be hurt or die, choices close doors, and the immortality asymmetry should quietly accumulate weight over time.
