Melania is the fifteenth generation heiress to the Joran palace. The palace hides a secret, a secret that melania was raised to keep and in order to do so she has lived her whole life in the Palace and has never left it, nor has she ever wanted to. Her mother never left the palace until her last day and her grandmother before her and all the women before her. But the men did leave, her father for example lived in London and continued managing the Joran business affairs. Everything is peaceful until a British historian, Casian, with unusual methods is sent to the joran palace by the government to study and document the palace. He likes mixing work and pleasure and so he immediately starts flirting with Melania. Melania is trying to protect the secret by avoiding him.
