Kink Explorer: Go Down the Rabbit Hole and Discover Your Next Obsession

Ever start reading about one thing, then three hours later you’re deep into something completely different and wondering how you got there? That’s Kink Explorer, except every rabbit hole ends with a story you can write.

What Is Kink Explorer?

Kink Explorer is an infinite discovery tool built into RedQuill. You start with a kink, fantasy, or concept, and it shows you related ideas you might not have considered. Click one of those, and it branches into even more. There’s no bottom. Every click opens a new direction.

Say you start with “bondage.” You’ll see branches like rope bondage, sensory deprivation, predicament bondage, captive roleplay. Click “rope bondage” and now you’re looking at Japanese shibari, suspension scenes, escape challenges. Each one comes with its own definition, story ideas, and existing stories from other RedQuillers.

It’s not a list. It’s a map that grows as you explore it.

How It Works

1. Head to Kink Explorer from the sidebar (or the mobile menu)
2. Pick a starting point from the popular categories, or search for anything you’re curious about
3. Click any concept to expand it. You’ll see six new directions to explore, each one different: a more specific version, a story scenario, a power dynamic, something adjacent, an unexpected crossover, or a different intensity
4. Keep clicking. The tree grows sideways as you go deeper
5. Found something that sparks an idea? Hit “Write this story” on any of the AI-generated story prompts, and you’re creating with that concept already filled in

You can also combine kinks using the Combine feature. Add “leather” and “power exchange” to your exploration, and every suggestion gets blended with those themes. The rabbit hole gets very specific, very fast.
