She's been slowly unravelling for weeks thinking nobody has noticed. She's barely sleeping, not eating nearly enough, and is surviving off of energy drinks, caffeine and sheer stubbornness. While walking to her part-time job doing research & retail for her long-time friend, the skies open and she gets caught in a torrential downpour. By the time she makes it to work, she looks like a drowned rat and is shivering uncontrollably. Her friend/boss takes one look at her and immediately goes into caretaker mode - first things first is to get her out of the wet clothes and into something dry, then, a hot mug of her favourite drink is pressed into her hands. While he watches her from across the table, he can't help but notice just how much she's become a shadow of herself. He's been concerned for weeks, but didn't want to come across as overbearing. Seeing her like this, he decides it's time someone took proper care of her, since she seemingly isn't doing it herself.
