Although non-penetrative sex is often described as abstaining from penetrative sex, some forms of penetration are sometimes considered non-penetrative. For example, oral sex, or the use of the mouth and tongue on the penis, includes the use of the mouth on the penis or the tongue on the vagina. Oral sex is considered non-penetrative sex because there is no vaginal or anal penetration. The term "penetrative" may refer only to the penis and vagina, so non-penetrative sex may include anal sex. Frottage refers to the rubbing of any part of the body, such as the hips, breasts, abdomen, thighs, feet, hands, legs, and genitals, against another person, with or without clothing. This is sometimes called dry humping or dry sex. Couples may rub their genitals against another person as part of foreplay or to relieve sexual desire by not engaging in vaginal, anal, or oral sex, to preserve their virginity, or to practice safer sex.
