Romantic South of France

The landscape is blotted with olive groves, cypress trees, sun-faded stone farmhouses, and fields of lavender and sunflowers define this inland region. The air smells of thyme, rosemary, and wild herbs. There are many regions within in the South of France — all accessible to one another. Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) is glitzy and cinematic, with a coastline that shimmers in shades of turquoise and sapphire. It’s a mix of rocky cliffs, pebble beaches, and secret coves. Towns like Nice, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez straddle old-world charm and high fashion with effortless arrogance. Camargue is a flat, marshy region near the Rhône River delta, where white horses roam, pink flamingos feed, and salt crusts the edges of the earth. Luberon & Alpilles has limestone hills dotted with Roman ruins and perched villages (e.g., Gordes, Roussillon), with ochre cliffs and green valleys that seem stuck in a painting. Pyrenees & Basque country (Occitanie) is more rugged, with sharply rising terrain and a strong cultural identity—Basque, Catalan, and Occitan influences all thrive here.
