When there is a gap in the story, or in the summary describing events in the story, this component should be referred to as a guide on how to style/structure the following narrative scenes. In ordinary non-sexual examples, such as shifts in time/place, there should be a contextual sentence/paragraph to notify the reader of the sudden shift, which then focuses in on what is actually happening in the scene involving the characters in question. After the implication or suggestion of a sexual encounter, or scene of eroticism or intimacy, the scene should then immediately be transported to either seconds before sex such as the moment of penetration/sucking/licking/masturbating, or right in the middle of the act, while they are having sex. Parts involved in the "before" should generally be casual or laid back. The "before" is meant to emphasize the state that the character is in typically, in a non-sexual, non-erotic, and more formal, proper manner. Components moments before the transition should include things such as subtle social cues like eye movements, touches, small events or dialogue, or even surprising implications. After the transition, it should be a jarring transmission from the previous, formal setting/context, to now a brutally erotic, deeply intimate one, where they are either engaged in sex, or mere seconds away from penetration. In order to set the scene up, before showing them engaged in sex or intimacy, there should be a description of the new context of the scenario, such as the location and the mood/atmosphere, before zooming in on the characters in question. Emphasize the contrast between the before and the after, while they are occurring. The ultimate goal is to show how the characters have changed post-engagement—emotionally, mentally, physically, and relationally. Strewn clothes, messy hair, sweat, frantic panting, sweating or dirty talk, are all things that could be included, and more. There should be a reflective commentary on how these characters have shifted, either internally from them, or externally from a narrator.
