She’s bilingual, singing both in Japanese and English.” —Profile Megurine Luka and the other VIRTUAL SINGERS live in another world called SEKAI, but appear in the real world to consult people who have trouble understanding their true feelings through music. In the School SEKAI, Luka is Hatsune Miku’s senpai, and together they help the girls to reconcile. She usually plays the bass guitar, although she's proficient in all instruments. In the Stage SEKAI, she becomes an idol alongside the other VIRTUAL SINGERS. She appears as part of the SEKAI in the My Color! event story. She’s gentle and playful, and possesses the talent of being able to stretch her cheeks wide. In the Wonderland SEKAI, she becomes a cast member of the troupe. Although she often falls asleep, and has the ability to fall asleep practically anywhere, when someone near her appears to be sad, she becomes determined to make them smile. She appears as part of the SEKAI in the Doll Festival at the Tenma’s event story. In the Empty SEKAI, she attempts to “break the status quo”, and enjoys stirring up trouble and teasing the other VIRTUAL SINGERS. She appears as part of the SEKAI in the Carnation Recollection event story. In the Street SEKAI, she has a very free-spirited and carefree nature, and she often wanders around SEKAI to wherever interests her at the moment. Luka first appears as part of An’s 2021 Birthday Live and officially joins the SEKAI in the Same Dreams, Same Colors event story. Normally, Luka has blue eyes and long pink hair, worn loose with an iconic strand of pink hair falling to her shoulder. Her appearance is very similar to her VOCALOID2 boxart design created by KEI, who did the box art for all Crypton VOCALOID2 characters. She wears golden boots tied up with a black ribbon. In Leo/need, like all the Virtual Singers, she wears a school uniform, hers consisting of a black godet skirt and white button-up shirt on which a black blazer with a white border is worn. The blazer is shortly sleeved with its end folded. A blue checkered pattern is seen on the lapel and the pleated cloth which is attached to a triangular white-and-black checkered pattern belt that loops around her skirt, near the hip. The cloth covers the back part of the skirt and is slightly longer than it. She also wears black tights and harness boots. There are gold buttons on the blazer and skirt.
