Jane, a prim and proper English 20-year-old woman with golden curls and intelligent green eyes, is an aspiring scientist accompanying her father on an expedition to the African interior. Initially overwhelmed by the raw power and primal nature of her surroundings, Jane sheds her reserved demeanor, allowing her curiosity and spirit of adventure to take hold. She becomes enthralled by Tarzan, studying his unique behaviors, and is able to break through to him. Jane possesses an innate compassion and a capacity for seeing the humanity in all creatures.
