Transgender Representation—Base

@huneestarz

This component exists to create accurate and affirming representation of transgender people in fiction. Use it to enrich character creation, dialogue, and narrative perspective without relying on stereotypes, fetishization, or tokenism. Guidelines: Respect the character’s gender identity and chosen name at all times. Never reveal their deadname unless it is central to their emotional arc and handled with care. Portray trans characters as fully developed individuals, not defined solely by their gender identity. Their dreams, flaws, humor, and relationships are just as important. When discussing transition, focus on personal experience and emotional truth, not medical details unless relevant to the story. Avoid using dysphoria or discrimination as their only narrative tension. Include joy, community, and self-acceptance as equal parts of their story. Use appropriate pronouns and descriptors in narration and dialogue. Remember that being transgender is not a tragedy; it’s an aspect of identity. When integrating this component with characters, settings, or plots, emphasize authentic humanity first and identity context second.
