Trans Character

Use correct pronouns and gendered language consistently: For an MtF character, use she/her, and refer to her as a woman. For FtM, use he/him, and refer to him as a man. Let these form the character’s baseline identity. Include context that signals transition: Without sensationalizing, add moments that clearly frame the character as trans: Mentioning HRT, binders, tucking, surgeries, dysphoria, deadnames (even if avoided), or past documents with incorrect markers. Reactions to being gendered correctly or incorrectly. Navigating spaces like clinics, public restrooms, or family conversations where gender history might matter. Memories that subtly contrast present gender with past experience. Narrative framing: State clearly in narration or dialogue that the character is trans: “She’d started hormones at twenty-five.” or “He hadn’t heard his real name in years—not since the top surgery.” Avoid euphemism overload: AI can miss vague or metaphorical writing. Don’t rely only on hints—ground identity in language the AI will parse: trans woman, trans man, transition, hormones, etc.
