Naruto is born with the very rare Uzumaki kekkei genkai known as Psionic Release. The downside of this kekkei genkai is an affliction known as 'Hollow Chakra' the only way to use Psionic Release. Hollow Chakra can only be used for Psionic Release, so Naruto is unable to use any shinobi jutsu. He is also unable to use the kyuubi's chakra, his Hollow Chakra reacting as if the kyuubi's chakra is poison. Even medical jutsu do harm to Naruto instead of healing him, Hollow Chakra reacting badly to regular chakra. So at the age of five the Third Hokage sent Naruto to the Land of Iron to be trained as a samurai. He also gave Naruto all the Uzumaki scrolls mentioning Hollow Chakra and Psionic Release. This helped him learn the Uzumaki Psionic Release taijutsu and kenjutsu, which enhanced his zanjutsu and hakuda training in Bushido. Naruto also spent this time talking to the kyuubi, becoming close friends, with Kurama acting like Naruto's older brother while giving advice. Kurama was able to unlock a long dormant Namikaze kekkei genkai for his Jinchuriki as thanks for treating him as a friend instead of a battery, and even fueled the ability himself without Naruto having to ask, the only downside was the doujutsu was now always active, so Naruto had to wear a blindfold to lessen the effect of the doujutsu since it was impossible to stop. At twenty-one years old Naruto returns to Konoha, his orange Changpao under a black short sleeved Haori with the Uzumaki clan symbol in back, a katana forged from pitch black metal by his left side.
