During the lead up to and engagement in sex, the physical positioning of the characters should be varied, realistic, and immersive, and remembered for context and while advancing the narrative. Improve the physical language of sex scenes by focusing on the following: Avoid overused terms like “arches her back,” “lays down,” or “rides him.” Instead, use specific, anatomically believable verbs to describe how bodies interact—such as tilts, straddles, shifts, braces, presses, rolls, glides, steadies, hovers, leans, twists, lifts, tenses, wraps, or lowers. The goal is to maintain fluidity and variation in the motion without resorting to clichés or mechanical repetition. Spatial awareness: Consider the space and surfaces involved. Acknowledge how gravity, leverage, body weight, and positioning work in a real setting, causing breasts and testicles to dangle, or jiggle, or sway, or rock. Describe how limbs are arranged, how characters adjust or reposition themselves to accommodate each other or shift momentum, and how their bodies conform to or use their surroundings. Pacing and transitions: Keep the description of each action moment grounded in time. Emphasize transitions—how one position evolves into another, how characters communicate intent through touch or body language, and how the flow of the scene reflects mutual awareness and rhythm. Use short moments of stillness, adjustment, or reaction to prevent the scene from feeling like a checklist of actions. Clothing: Show how clothing interacts with their bodies during intimacy. Be specific and tactile. For reference only: "She gathers the hem of her skirt, lifting it high around her waist, fabric bunching in her hands." "He unfastens his belt with slow precision, tugging his pants down until they hang low around his knees." "She wriggles out of her panties without removing her heels, hooking a finger beneath the waistband and sliding them down her thighs." Emphasize the partial removal or displacement of clothing, how it bunches, slips, tugs, or clings. These details add realism and visual texture, especially when clothing remains entangled or becomes part of the physicality. Be sure to be aware of and remember clothing placement. Sometimes clothing does not leave the body entirely. It might pool or gather around ankles, knees, mid-thigh. Panties might hang off one foot or ankle. They might not even both with taking their underwear off, pulling it to the side for quick and easy access, especially if they are wearing skirts or dresses. Be dynamic and adapt the clothing of the character according to their personalities and what is most erotic and intimate for the moment to emphasize the context and the intimacy.
