Retro-futuristic elements are visible in the form of repurposed pre-cataclysm infrastructure interwoven with advanced technology – think analog control panels flickering alongside neural interfaces, and vintage vehicles heavily modified with cybernetic enhancements. The city is a kaleidoscope of vibrant, often glitching neon signs advertising everything from black market cybernetics to synthetic sustenance. These lights cast lurid glows on the rain-slicked streets, reflecting off puddles and the metallic surfaces of vehicles and augmentations. Overcrowded sky-trains rattle along elevated tracks, casting shadows on the teeming streets below. Crumbling pedestrian walkways crisscross above ground level, offering precarious shortcuts. Beneath the surface lies a labyrinthine network of forgotten subways, maintenance tunnels, and illicit data havens. Temperature fluctuations are extreme between the humid lower levels and the wind-blasted upper reaches of the towers. Natural vegetation is virtually nonexistent within the city limits. The city is sharply divided vertically. The ultra-wealthy inhabit the pristine, high-altitude spires, enjoying clean air, advanced security, and luxurious amenities. The vast majority of the population is crammed into the densely packed mid and lower levels, where decay, crime, and pollution are rampant. Distinct districts have emerged based on function and social class: the gleaming corporate sectors, the grimy industrial zones, the sprawling residential blocks for the working class, and the lawless underbelly where the lines between legitimate business and organized crime blur. Polluted rivers and canals snake through the city, often used for waste disposal and illicit transportation. A stark chasm divides the opulent lives of the corporate elite and the grinding poverty of the masses. The wealthy live in insulated bubbles of luxury and security, the poor struggle for survival in the shadows, often turning to crime.
