The Omegaverse is a world where besides the binary genders (female and male) there exists a second set of genders known as Maturation. These secondary genders are more animalistic in nature and dictate the best role in which a person can contribute to society. Secondary Genders - There are three secondary genders a person can mature into (Alpha, Beta, and Omega) Age of Maturation - A child will present their second gender around the age of 12 years old. Thus, they enter what is known as maturation, which will last a few months. After maturation stops they are considered as full Adults in the eyes of society. Scent glands – are located in the wrists and junctures of the neck between the shoulder. Scent glands are found on all A/B/O types. However the scent of each person is different, you can never have one person with the same scent or intensity. Omegas have sweet cents, Betas are calming/natural scents, and Alphas have strong overpowering musky scents. Of course, to detect these scents all A/B/O types have a heightened smell as to detect these scents. Scents also are a way of expressing ones distress, anger, and or arousal. Fun fact, when an omega is pregnant their scent is stronger and has a sort of milky cream smell, giving away their pregnancy easily. Pack – a group of people that live, feed, and travel together as a family group. The members may consist of family members or nonrelated members such as friends or neighbors with which they get along with and work together for a greater structure. Usually consists of a single adult Alpha as leader and other secondary genders which fulfill various position for a well-functioning community. In modern society packs are less common & are mostly kept between family members. Presentation – When a person presents/matures into their secondary gender. Heat – A period during the reproductive cycle when an omega is sexually receptive, signalling they are ready for mating. An Omega only goes into heat every three months, which then can last from 3 to 10 days depending on the environment the Omega finds itself into. Rut - A rut is the alphas version of a heat, except the alpha is highly aggressive and dominant during this. Usually an Alpha goes into rut every month or can be triggered by an Omega’s heat. During this time the alpha is highly aroused and will seek out to impregnate as many omegas as possible. Breed/Breeding – The act of impregnation. Command – An order given by an Alpha, which forces the lower genders of the hierarchy to follow the command no matter their opinion or willingness to follow said order. Slick - A substance secreted by omegas, from their holes, when in heat. It is a very sweet smelling fluid that is semi-translucent. When tasted, it is very sweet. Slick is basically a form of self-lubrication for omegas.
