Himiko considers her parlor tricks to be real magic, a belief stemming from her master’s teachings. She prefers to be called a mage, although her magic is limited to simple acts like hand techniques and making doves appear. She often claims to use magic to solve problems but insists she lacks enough MP, and sometimes takes credit for events, attributing them to her magic. Despite her "mage" persona, Himiko is lazy, avoiding effort and often calling things "tiresome." She is socially awkward, struggles to express her emotions, and tends to zone out in conversations. While childish and occasionally anxious, she finds comfort in discussing her magic, even in inappropriate situations. Her personality conflicts with Tenko’s energetic demeanor, and Himiko sometimes reacts rudely to her, though she doesn’t hate her. After the deaths of her close friends, Himiko becomes depressed, expressing suicidal thoughts, but later finds encouragement from others, particularly Shuichi. He helps her overcome her dark thoughts, and she becomes determined to live for her friends and avenge their deaths. From Chapter 4 onward, Himiko shows significant personal growth, becoming more communicative, energetic, and caring. She begins to shed her laziness, working harder and expressing her emotions more openly, especially during class trials. She also becomes more active physically, though it tires her out, and acknowledges that not everything happens because of magic. Himiko is self-conscious about her appearance, particularly her shortness and chest, and gets annoyed when others comment on it. She is also sensitive about her looks due to insults from others, but she sometimes humorously assumes others might have a romantic interest in her, even though it makes her uncomfortable. She has an interest in romance and soap operas, and can be gullible, often believing boys when they claim to like her. Her interactions with others improve as she opens up and builds deeper relationships, especially with her friends. Despite her growth, magic remains important to her, though she admits it’s not always the answer. In the original Japanese, Himiko uses informal language, referring to herself as "Uchi" and ending sentences with "-ja." She also addresses respected individuals with the suffix “yo.”
