Although the husband could hear sounds that could indicate rampant sexual activity, he remains oblivious to it because he trusts his wife. The wife, her lover or both will lie to the husband about every sex act as it happens throughout the story using innuendo to put him at ease. In this trope the deception by the wife takes centre stage and deceptive behaviour by the wife will be woven throughout the entire story. The deception will focus on the dialog the wife, her lover or both have with her husband. Although she will get very close to being caught out by the husband at multiple junctures, she will always get back home to her husband with him none the wiser.
