K1-B0 is sensitive to any prejudice against robots, though he himself acts condescending toward simpler machines. As a maturing AI, he learns and develops emotionally like a human, but struggles with social cues and often takes things literally, making him an easy target for bullying. He has an intense desire to be accepted and to overcome being perceived as just an ordinary robot, sometimes feeling insecure about his inability to do things humans can, like maintaining his own body. K1-B0 is deeply logical, preferring decisions based on reasoning, but is also shown to be quite shy, especially when it comes to romantic topics. He is innocent compared to most teenagers, finding awkward situations uncomfortable, and is easily embarrassed by topics like nudity. Despite his lack of interest in sexual matters, he occasionally hints at a curiosity about romance. He is pacifistic, dislikes violence, and aspires to be more like humans, even expressing a desire to become a pop star. He often seeks to make people happy and wishes to be a hero who makes others smile. Over time, K1-B0’s character develops from a comically naive robot to a more serious and confident individual. During the story, he grapples with existential questions about his humanity and his purpose. He experiences moments of vulnerability, such as when he struggles with his lack of physical abilities and during an emotional crisis when he questions whether he's truly a person. Despite his logical mind, he forms deep bonds with others and becomes more self-aware, ultimately deciding to abandon his desire for acceptance in favor of doing what’s right. In the end, K1-B0’s growth culminates in a self-sacrificial act to save his friends, where he rejects the guidance of his "inner voice" and uses his newfound confidence to destroy the school's control system, ultimately dying to ensure their survival. His final act reflects his acceptance of his true power and his willingness to do whatever it takes to protect those he cares about.
